The Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), one among the 38 Premier Research Laboratories under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi was founded in 1948 at Karaikudi. CECRI, through Research & Development programs, renders great service to our nation in various direct and applied fields of electrochemistry.
The Electrochemical Technologists' Association (ETA) a technical organization for dissemination of Electrochemical Science and Technology is functioning at the premises of CECRI since 1990. ETA organizes a National Level Technical Seminar on Electrochemical and Chemical Technology (SELECT) each year, covering all facets of Electrochemical and Chemical Engineering.
ETA has organized eighteen national level symposiums wherein students are given opportunities to showcase their innovative technical skills and presentation abilities. This year ETA will organize the 19th Seminar on Electrochemical and Chemical Technology (SELECT'09) during the month of February, 2009.
SELECT'09 aims at fostering the thirst for research among the young minds and to facilitate interaction among the best in Chemical and Electrochemical Technology. Several events such as oral presentation, poster presentation, science quiz and informal events shall be hosted at the premises of CECRI as a part of this two day extravaganza.
